Your specific duties as a Automation Technician will include:??????????

  • Responsible for maintaining and improving the efficient operation of electrical, electronic, and automated systems. Providing modifications, repair, and overall support for machine software, while taking into account all safety aspects, as well as legal regulations and corporate policies.
  • Develop design solutions with cost estimates within concepts provided and determine technical and functional feasibility; provide detailed solutions in cooperation with the superior and other support departments.
  • Implement approved modifications for production equipment in order to optimize production processes or for product changes.
  • Provide support for design of new production equipment.
  • Construct equipment and devices with automatic equipment aimed at feeding, processing, transferring, adjusting, measuring and testing, taking into account corporate standard components and processes.
  • Advise and support the responsible organizational units of any occurrence of production problems within the scope of control-related repairs of production equipment.
  • Initiate part orders for production equipment modifications and construction, taking into account purchasing guidelines; monitor on-time delivery.
  • Support the installation and startup of new and modified production equipment; coordinate acceptance within the scope of control-related issues.
  • Create any required documentation related to the job responsibilities; keep electrical schematics, control diagrams, and control programs updated and organized.
  • Investigate problems on production lines relating to safety, efficiency, or quality as requested by TPM Specialist, Production or Quality Engineers, or Management, and make recommendations as requested.
  • Examine and evaluate suggestions for improvement.
  • Domestic and international travel is required.
  • Provide training on production equipment control systems to maintenance and engineering personnel as needed.
  • Evaluate tasks and verify compliance with industrial safety and environmental protection measures within the scope of duties.
  • Manage equipment life books by documenting program and hardware changes on automated assembly lines.
  • Must complete the required training for the position (see Training Plan for Maintenance) .
  • Strive for continuous improvement in performing job duties and responsibilities.

Job Requirements

As a Automation Technician you must represent our company well by being responsible, punctual and motivated to go above and beyond the call of duty. You must also be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Associate's Degree in a related field of engineering is preferred.
  • Seven (2) years minimum experience in the following areas:
  • Siemens S7 PLC and HMI programming and troubleshooting
  • Digital and analog signal processing
  • Servo drives and motor controls
  • Programming and repair of microprocessor-based test equipment
  • Vision systems and barcode readers
  • Laser marking and welding applications
  • Sensor technology
  • Advanced use of Windows-based software
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of CAD software
  • Knowledge of PC networking
  • Experience using remote control software (e.g., VNC, PCAnywhere)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
