Production - Supervisor

Job Summary
Supervises and coordinates the activities of the departmental processes and personnel within the assigned manufacturing function. The Production Supervisor has authority for personnel actions and oversees most day-to-day operations of the group.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervises the process and all employees in the department

  • Schedules the workload for all employees in the department

  • Ensures manufacturing process in the department meets all production and quality requirements.

  • Performs recordkeeping for various aspects of the manufacturing process, as required

  • Ensures the area within the department is clean, and all equipment is in good repair

  • Addresses all production emergencies and any requests from other department supervisors in a responsible and professional manner

  • Monitors safety within the department on a continual basis, and holds monthly safety meetings with employees

  • Leads and directs continuous improvement projects, and supports scrap reduction activities

  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • 10. High School diploma or GED

  • (Associate degree in a business or technical field related to manufacturing preferred)

  • 5 years of manufacturing experience with 3 years in a supervisory or team lead role

  • (experience with JIT production system, TPM, and Kaizen implementation preferred)

  • Strong knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:

  • Troubleshooting and problem solving skills

  • Organizational and planning skills

  • Business software packages, including MS Office

  • Written and verbal communications skills

  • Interpersonal skills ‚€” to confidently interact with individuals at all levels of authority, and to work and function in a team environment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
